Teenage Romance
Meagan’s cousins introduced her to Logan in the summer of 2014, when Meagan had just turned 14, and Logan was almost 16. After just one evening spent together, a clear crush had developed.
“I remember meeting Logan and immediately thinking he was exactly the kind of guy I wanted to be with,” Meagan recalled. “He was funny, sweet, a cute little football player and wasn’t afraid to talk about his faith. My cousin and I went home that night, laid in my bed and talked about him for hours.”

Meagan and Logan’s relationship matured as they grew up alongside one another and celebrated each other’s milestones. Through high school, college, graduate school and Meagan’s CPA exams, the relationship remained steadfast.
In 2024, Logan proposed to Meagan at The Cavalier in Virginia Beach, a venue Meagan had raved about for years. Meagan said, “Yes!” The couple celebrated with a surprise family dinner at Beachside Social.
Planning Process
Wedding planning proved overwhelming for Meagan and Logan. They intentionally waited several months before kicking off the planning process in hopes of avoiding too much stress early in the engagement.
The couple called their coordinator from EverlyAfter Events one of the biggest blessings throughout the stress of planning. “We technically hired her as a day-of coordinator, but she went so far beyond that,” they explained. “She stepped in a couple of months before the wedding and was always there to answer questions, offer advice and help with anything we needed. She was also such a huge help with setting up and breaking down all of our decor, which was especially important considering how many things we had made ourselves.”
The Details
Meagan sourced her gown from Studio I Do in Virginia Beach. The satin, fitted dress featured a sweetheart neckline and subtle draping across the bust and torso.

The tuxedos worn by Logan and his groomsmen also came from Studio I Do.
Bridesmaids donned black, floor-length gowns from a variety of retailers. Meagan approved photos of the dresses to make sure the looks would be cohesive. “Everyone was able to choose something that suited their personality while still keeping the overall look classic and elegant,” she explained.

Blossom and Bliss Flowers provided luscious, all-white bouquets, including the bride’s bouquet, which featured trailing greenery and white roses.

Timeless Touch
The couple hoped to create a timeless, personal atmosphere through the wedding theming and decor. “My biggest goal was to look back at our wedding photos years from now and still love every detail,” said Meagan. “I didn’t want to follow trends just because they were popular.”

Together, the couple landed on a black and white color scheme accented with greenery and candles. This timeless palette complemented the venue’s classic look well. Intricate, all-white floral arrangements flanked the entrance to the reception space, cozy candles lit the dinner tables and white pillars topped with florals and greenery framed the couple as they shared their vows.

“One of my absolute favorite details from our wedding was our cake topper,” Meagan explained. “It was actually the same cake topper my grandparents used at their wedding 62 years earlier. Being able to incorporate something with so much family history and meaning into our own wedding was incredibly special to me. It’s one of those little details that I’ll cherish forever.”

The couple also undertook several DIY projects before the wedding. Meagan and her maid of honor handmade floral arrangements, the couple sourced eclectic vases from Facebook Marketplace and Meagan made all the event signage herself.

“There were definitely moments when I wondered why I decided to take on so much, but seeing everything come together on our wedding day made it all worth it,” she said. “It was exactly what I had envisioned, and I loved knowing how much of it we had created ourselves.”
The Day
The couple held their ceremony and reception at Northfield Estate.
“When I finally started looking at venues, I was scrolling and came across Northfield Estate,” Meagan recalled. “I genuinely thought the pictures were fake, because I couldn’t believe a venue that beautiful was in Virginia.”

The couple fell in love with the venue’s simple elegance. Plus, a dairy farm across the road reminded Meagan of her grandfather, a farmer who had passed away about ten years before. The couple shared that the rustic vistas and adorable cows felt like a sign letting them know he was there.
The couple shared vows privately before the ceremony, but, at Logan’s request, saved the first look for Meagan’s walk down the aisle.
They kept the ceremony short, sweet and personal. Logan’s high school football coach officiated. The couple decided to hold the ceremony at Northfield Estate’s Terrace, where the wedding party made a grand entrance down the venue’s stone steps.

Northfield’s event tent provided the perfect setting for the reception. Guests followed elegant stone pathways to the tent, where the sun could be seen through the tent’s windows, dipping behind autumnal grassy fields.
Family and friends regaled the couple with heartfelt toasts before party goers enjoyed dinner and danced the night away.

“Everyone was on the dance floor, singing, dancing and just having the best time together,” the couple recalled.

When I Look at You
Meagan and Logan shared a first dance to “When I Look at You” by Miley Cyrus. The song’s lyrics mirrored their own journey together, they shard.
“We went back and forth on our first dance song for a while, but ultimately kept coming back to this one,” said the couple. “We’ve been together since we were teenagers, and we’ve experienced so many different stages of life together. We’ve both had our struggles, but through everything, we’ve always had each other to lean on. The meaning behind that song felt so fitting for our relationship, and we can’t imagine having chosen anything else.”
