Wedding signage is one of the more fun DIY projects because there are so many options and opportunities for creativity! Whether you want to go all out with a seating chart display, or you’d rather design something minimalistic on Canva and have it printed, signage is where your wedding vision can shine through.

Welcome Sign
While some may argue a welcome sign isn’t necessary, we think it sets the tone and incorporates the theme from the moment guests arrive. Take this opportunity to display a favorite verse, saying or unique verbiage welcoming guests; one of our favorites is “come for the love; stay for the party.” Two of our favorite ideas are a custom mirror or fabric drape:

Mirror: Choose a mirror that fits in the space it’ll be utilized it. A thrift store is a great place for this, or stores like Hobby Lobby and Kirklands. You can design and cut out the vinyl design using a Cricut machine or purchase it pre-cut on Etsy.
Fabric Drape: Purchase a cotton or linen fabric and your local craft store and cut out a design on heat transfer vinyl. A garment rack works great for the stand, and they’re pretty affordable on Amazon. Finish this off with a floral display or a pair of bows.

Bar Menu
If you’re having an open bar or even a soda bar, a cute menu makes all the difference! Keep the fabric sign theme going here or incorporate a beautiful vase design.

Fabric Drape: Similar to the fabric welcome sign above, this is a super easy DIY with fabric and heat press vinyl.
Ceramic Vase: Thrift a large vase then use self-adhesive vinyl to add drink options.

Seating Chart
Possibilities for a seating chart are endless! Large displays are definitely doable DIYs if you plan ahead and start early, but our top picks are a little more simple.
Bonus Tip: Organize your seating chart alphabetically instead of by table, so guests can find their name faster.

Frame: Purchase a multi frame display and print out 4″x6″ table assignments for each spot.
Mirror: Print your alphabetized guest list on multiple pieces of paper and use a sticker or wax seal to stick them to a mirror. Use self-adhesive vinyl to add a little saying to the top.

Informational Signage
Most of your wedding day signage is going to fall into this category. These are less for the aesthetics and more to convey a message to the guests- but don’t get us wrong, just because they’re necessary doesn’t mean they have to be bland. Examples include: unplugged ceremony, open seating (for ceremony), guestbook, menu/buffet cards, and order of events.

Easel: For the unplugged ceremony, open seating, and order of event signs, consider designing them on Canva (for free!) and having them printed at Staples or a local print shop, then display on an easel.
Table Top Sign: For an 8.5″ x 11″ table-top sign, print off your design on heavy weight paper and attach a poster stand to it for a free standing sign! Poster stands are available at Staples!
This is a great choice for guestbooks signs.
