Allow me to share something I’ve picked up after years of planning honeymoons.
The best honeymoons aren’t the priciest, packed with stops, or copied from the internet.
They’re the ones that truly fit the couple.
Honestly, most people don’t take the time to think about that.
After all the work of planning a wedding, it’s easy to treat the honeymoon as just another task. You pick a place, book a hotel, possibly add a tour, and move on. But this trip is different.
It’s your first chance to pause, relax, and simply enjoy being married.
Start Easy, Don’t Overdo It

Most honeymoons start in a big city, like Athens, Rome, or Paris. That’s actually a great way to ease into your trip.
But here’s where I usually say, “Don’t try to do everything.”
You don’t have to see every landmark or check every box. After your wedding, you’re probably more tired than you think.
Give yourself an easy start. Enjoy a good hotel, a nice dinner, and maybe a walk that first evening. Let it be simple.
Once you’ve settled in, you can let the pace slow down.
Pick the Feeling, Not Just the Place

This is where many people get stuck.
Everyone starts by asking, “Where should we go?” but that’s not the best question.
A better question is: how do you want this trip to feel?
Do you want excitement, quiet, or a mix of both?
Take Greece, for example. Your experience changes a lot depending on where you stay. One island might be full of beach clubs and late nights, while another is calm, scenic, and more private.
Same country, but a completely different honeymoon.
It’s the same in the Caribbean. Some resorts are lively and social, while others feel like you’ve escaped from the world for a week.
Neither option is better—it just depends on what you want.
Don’t Pack Too Much In

If I could tell every couple one thing, it would be this: don’t try to do too much.
You don’t need four or five stops or a packed schedule every day.
Two or maybe three places are enough. Give yourself time to really enjoy each one.
Sleep in. Take your time getting to dinner. Have a day with nothing planned and see where it leads.
That’s usually when the best moments happen.
The Little Things Matter More Than You Think

Most people don’t expect this part.
There’s a big difference between merely booking a trip and having one that feels truly taken care of.
You walk into your room and find an upgrade waiting for you. Breakfast is included. Someone has noted that you’re on your honeymoon.
These special touches aren’t just luck. They happen because of the connections I have. Making sure you get those extra touches is part of my job, so your trip feels more personal and memorable from the start.
Your transfers are arranged. Reservations are taken care of. You don’t have to figure things out as you go.
All those little details add up quickly.
It also helps to have someone on your side if things go wrong. Flights can change, weather can surprise you, and plans don’t always work out. If something comes up, for example, delays, bad weather, or eleventh-hour changes, I’m here to help. I can rebook hotels, adjust your plans, give real-time advice, and handle emergencies so you don’t have to worry. My job is to make certain everything is handled quickly and smoothly so you can keep enjoying your trip.
You shouldn’t have to deal with those things on this trip.
It Should Feel Like You

In the end, your honeymoon isn’t about following what everyone else does.
Some couples want to explore all day and try every restaurant. Others prefer a quiet spot, a great view, and time together.
Most couples fall somewhere in between.
Your honeymoon should faithfully reflect who you both are.
What You’ll Actually Remember

Years from now, you won’t remember every tour or every detail.
You’ll remember how it felt.
You’ll remember that first night when everything slowed down, the view you didn’t want to leave, and the day with no plans that turned out perfect.
That’s what really matters.
When you plan it right, your honeymoon will feel as special and memorable as it should be, distinctly yours.
